Li3 Energy Inc (LIEG)

LI3 Energy, Inc. was incorporated on June 24, 2005, in Nevada as Mystica Candle Corp. On October 19, 2009, it changed its name to Li3 Energy, Inc. It is a US listed exploration company formed to meet the growing market and global demand for clean, green energy initiatives. It is focused on the discovery and development of lithium and potassium brine and nitrate and iodine deposits in Chile, Argentina and Peru. It has acquired a 60% interest in the Maricunga project, an advanced lithium and potassium chloride project in Chile, and it continues to explore other lithium and industrial minerals prospects in the region near the Alfredo iodine/nitrate project. With its Maricunga project in Chile and led by industry veterans with extensive technical and finance expertise, Li3 plans to become a mid-tier and low-cost supplier of lithium, potassium nitrate, iodine and other strategic minerals in order to serve global clients supporting the energy, fertilizer and specialty chemical industries. It plans to produce an iodine product and ship the potash from Maricunga in order to upgrade the Alfredo nitrate into a potassium nitrate fertilizer. The Company also holds a 100% interest in the Loriscocha, Suches, and Vizcachas lithium salars in southern Peru, which are currently under the grassroots exploration stage.
