Grupo Kuo SAB de CV was founded in 1973. It was formerly known as DESC, S.A.B. de C.V. and changed its name to Grupo KUO, S.A.B. de C.V. in March 2007. The Company, through its subsidiaries, engages in the manufacture and sale of consumer products, chemicals, and auto parts in Mexico and internationally. The Company operates in three segments; Consumer, Chemical and Automotive. The Consumer sector is engaged in producing and distributing processed foods, beverages and pork meat through two SBUs: Herdez Del Fuerte JV and Pork Meat SBU. The Chemical sector is engaged in the manufacture and sells industrial chemical products. The SBU's in this sector includes; Plastics SBU, Elastomers SBU and Dynasol SBU. It currently has three product lines in four plants located in two Mexican states (Tamaulipas and Tlaxcala) and one in Santander, Spain, and two plants under construction in the provinces of Liaoning and Jiangsu in China, using proprietary and third-party technologies. It offers chemical products, including synthetic rubber in solution; synthetic rubber emulsions; nanostructured additives, nanocomposites, and blends and nanofillers; carbon black; and polystyrene. The automotive sector produces different automotive parts and components, such as manual transmissions for light, medium and heavy-duty rear traction vehicles, components and modules for rear axles of electrical vehicles (hybrids), pistons, joints and seals for engines, and sells automotive parts for the original equipment and replacement markets, through 2 SBUs: Power Systems SBU and Aftermarket SBU. It currently manufactures and sells different product lines in 6 plants located in the states of Querétaro, Guanajuato, State of Mexico, Jalisco and Distrito Federal. Its primary brands are; TremecMR, MoresaMR, TF VictorMR, RaceMR, IEAMR, VehycoMR, AutoparMR, SelloVMR, FritecMR and EFASAMR.
