Andritz AG was founded in 1852. The Company is engaged in the supply of plants, equipment, and services for hydropower stations, the pulp and paper industry, solid/liquid separation in the municipal and industrial sectors, the steel industry, and the production of animal feed and biomass pellets. The Company operates in four segments namely Hydro, Pulp & Paper, Metals and Separation,. The Hydro segment is engaged in Electromechanical systems in particular, turbines, hydropower generators, and turbo generators and services for new hydropower stations as well as for modernizations of existing hydropower stations; pumps for the pulp and paper industry and for other applications. The Pulp and paper segment provides Plants and services for the production of all types of pulp (chemical, mechanical, recycled fiber pulps), paper, board, tissue, and medium-density fiberboard (MDF); biomass boilers for power generation; systems for the production of plastic film. The Separation segment provides Plants, equipment, and services for solid/liqui separation for municipalities and certain industries (e.g. mining, chemicals, and petrochemical industries, food industry). The Metal segment produces and finishes metal strip, especially for carbon and stainless steel. The Company has modernization and rehabilitation projects in Europe and North America, some new hydropower projects in the emerging markets, mainly in South America and Africa.
