Rare Earth Minerals ETFs Profiles
The rare earth industry revolves around 17 metallic elements that play a critical role in modern technology. These elements are used in everything from fighter jets to consumer electronics and are occupying an increasingly important role in foreign policy. China currently dominates with 70% of rare earth production and 60% of global reserves, and the U.S. and other countries are investing in domestic mining and refining operations to gain larger market share. Rare earth minerals stocks include businesses involved in the mining, refining, and processing of these elements. Most pure-play companies are in early stages, so be prepared for volatility as facilities come online and geopolitical priorities ebb and flow.
