Click the Tools button, then click on the tool you wish to add.
For trend lines, click and HOLD your mouse pointer on the chart where you want to position the start, then DRAG your mouse to the end point and release.
For drawing/shape tools, simply click on the chart where you want to position the shape.
Click to select the tool. Once selected, you can move it on the chart, drag any of the end points to change its size, etc.
Right-click to open the parameters of the tool, or to Delete it from the chart.
Remember... if you are logged in, tools are saved and will appear in the same position next time you open the chart for the symbol you are working on. (Note: no audio in video below)

"Pop-Out" Charts
Look for the in the upper right corner of the chart. This icon will "pop out" an exact, full-sized copy of the chart you are working on into a new browser window. Keep the chart open as you explore other areas of the website.
Open as many pop-out charts as you wish. And if you make any changes to your pop out chart, we'll save them for the next time you view the chart for that symbol within the website. (Note: no audio in video below)

Comparison Charts
You can overlay up to eight symbols onto a chart for a comparison of the symbols' prices over the selected time period.
Click the Compare button.
Select from the popular indices at the top, or enter up to three symbols for comparison.
If the price scales on the symbols are radically different, you may want to check Left Scale. This will add a second price scale for the comparison symbol to the chart.
You may also check the box to display as a Percent Change price scale (this will also change the Bar Type of the underlying symbol to Line.)
To remove a comparison symbol, click the Compare button, and click the X by the symbol you wish to remove. (Note: no audio in video below)

Equities Adjustments
If viewing a chart for a U.S. or Canadian equity, you can ask the chart to display Events (Dividends, Earnings, Splits). You may also have the chart perform a Dividends Back Adjustment - historical price history will reflect an adjustment for each dividend paid.
The Barchart.com website displays real-time Cboe BZX Exchange prices for U.S. equities, including pre- and post-market data. You may also select Extended Hours when viewing an Intraday chart for a U.S. equity symbol where Cboe BZX data is used.
Click the Settings button.
Open the Adjustments tab.

Futures Contract Roll / Back Adjustment
When charting a futures symbol, and specifically when requesting a Nearby or Continuous aggregation, you can configure the chart to roll the futures contract based on Days to Expiration, or on Volume / Open Interest.
In addition, you can configure the chart to Back Adjust the price history when switching contract months.
Click the Settings button.
Open the Adjustments tab.
