Understanding Volume: The most important technical indicator there is.
Webinar Description
Trading is often referred to as an “all-out arms race” because of the constant need to stay ahead of the competition. In the hopes of gaining even the slightest edge, today’s trader is constantly looking for the next tool, resource, or indicator to give them a leg up. But what if that desire for greatness blinded them to one of the simplest, most reliable, real-time indicators available: VOLUME.
A common saying among traders is the trend is your friend and volume can be used to assess that trend’s strength. Volume can warn us of a trend’s impending change and alert us to potential tops and bottoms.
As most traders know, market prices are determined by supply and demand. And those transactions are recorded by volume. Traders often say that "volume confirms price." The price-volume analysis goes together like thunder and lightning. You can't have one without the other.
Join Barchart's Head of Trading Education, John Rowland, as he explains why volume is his favorite technical indicator and John will also demonstrate how to use Barchart's Most Active Stock Volume Advances page to look for trading opportunities.
In the webinar, you will learn about:
- The Four Phases of Price-Volume Analysis
- Significance of High and Low Volume
- Barchart's Most Active Stocks page
- Other volume-based technical analyses such as On Balance Volume, Accumulation-Distribution, & VWAP
