Fibonacci Retracements & Extensions – Everything You Need to Know

Webinar Recorded on Mar 16, 2022  | 1 hour Download Slides (PDF)

Webinar Description

The Golden Ratio (.618), also known as the Divine Proportion, is found throughout the natural world like in seashells and galaxies. Today's modern trader has popularized the Golden Ratio through something commonly referred to as Fibonacci (named after an Italian mathematician) ratios.

Traders can apply Fibonacci ratios to markets and their price movements. When used correctly, Fibonacci ratios can help determine potential support and resistance levels. These levels are critically important in understanding market psychology as well as the forces of supply and demand. Trading is a puzzle and being able to piece together as much of that puzzle will go a long way in determining one’s success.

Fibonacci ratios also represent the backbone of mathematical sequencing and algorithmic programming. A quote from the book "The Art of War" states that "if you understand your enemies' battle tactics, you use that knowledge against them." Because much of today's algorithmic programming uses Fibonacci applications, traders' understanding of retracement, multiples, and dividers will only serve to enhance their skills.

Join Barchart’s Head of Trading Education, John Rowland, as he explains how you can determine potential price movements, define risk, and select profitable targets through the proper application of Fibonacci ratios.

In the webinar, you will learn:

  • The math behind Fibonacci
  • How to use Barchart's Fibonacci retracement and extension tools
  • Tips on combining Fibonacci ratios with other modern technical analysis
