
Front month cotton futures were 191 to 214 points higher on the day. In-delivery October contracts rallied 303 points for the close. Preliminary OI data shows 49 contracts were still open as of Tuesday’s close with 115 delivery notices so far. Crude Oil ended lower on Wednesday at $74.76/bbl.
Cotton sales reported on The Seam were 2,131 bales on 9/28. USDA’s 9/29 DSQ report showed 836 bales were added to the program. ICE certified stocks were 57,659 bales on 9/28. The Cotlook A index for 9/28 was another 220 points stronger to $1.0815/lb. The AWP for cotton is 77.59 cents/lb, and will be updated Thursday.
