Martinrea International Inc was formed by the amalgamation under the Ontario Business Corporations Act of several predecessor Corporations on May 1, 1998. The Company is engaged in designing, engineering, manufacturing and selling metal parts, assemblies and fluid management systems and is focused on the automotive sector. The Company conducts its operations through divisions, which function as autonomous business units, following a corporate policy of functional and operational decentralization. The Company's products include assemblies and systems for small and large cars, crossovers, pickups and sport utility vehicles. The Company's aluminum products include high pressure die-casting, permanent mold, and sand casting, as well as extruding and rolling products. The Company provides fuel tank and sender assemblies, fuel lines and hoses, fuel line feed and return assembly systems, fuel filler necks, capless refueling systems, and vapor assemblies and canister hoses. It provides engine and transmission products comprising transmission and engine oil coolers, hoses, and tube assemblies, transmission and engine oil fillers, tubes and indicators, oil pick-up screen and pipes, heater hose inlet/outlet, engine blocks. It also provides power steering and brakes products comprising brake lines and assemblies, power steering lines and assemblies and power steering oil filler, tubes and indicators. It provides air conditioning lines and heater core inlet/outlet assemblies; and exhaust components consisting of mufflers, DPS lines, EGR tubes, air-injection tubes, and exhaust manifold tubes. In addition, the Company provides body and chassis products, such as frame rail assemblies, suspension arms and links, suspension twist axles, centre and rear crossmembers, roof assemblies, door intrusion beams, bumpers, dash/plenum assemblies, wheelhouse assemblies, roll-formed rockers/headers, appliqués, belt, upper reveal and roof ditch moldings, radiator support assemblies, trailer hitches. Further, the Company provides modules, including rear suspension, front horizontal and front vertical and among others. The Company's key competitors include Cooper Standard and TI Automotive in the fluid systems area and it competes with Cosma (Magna), Tower, Dana/ Metalsa, Benteler, Gestamp and others in the metal forming market. The Company is subject to environmental regulation by the federal, provincial and municipal authorities in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Europe, Brazil and China.
