Barchart’s 2022 Year In Review

At Barchart, we are constantly innovating and rolling out new products in order to stay ahead of the curve. We are dedicated to providing modern, cutting-edge solutions that improve and simplify our clients' workflows. Let’s take a look back at some of our announcements and releases from 2022…

Barchart Digitizes Grain Trading Workflows with Marketplace Apps 2.0

Our Marketplace Apps saw some major improvements with the significant 2.0 update we announced this year. This next-generation release of agribusiness mobile apps connects producers directly into grain merchandiser workflows by linking producer-facing apps to cmdtyView, which sits on merchandiser desktops. This latest release gives Barchart’s Ag platform a major upgrade, allowing agribusinesses to easily originate, contract, sign, and hedge grain in a completely digital environment.

Following the 2.0 launch, Barchart’s Marketplace Apps was named the Overall AgTech Solution of the Year at the 2022 AgTech Breakthrough Awards!

Barchart Automates Hedging for Grain Buyers to Digitize Agriculture

Our latest digital workflow release within the Barchart AgTech ecosystem was cmdtyView Hedge. With cmdtyView Hedge, agribusinesses can now automate hedging for physical grain in cmdtyView; Barchart’s commodity trading platform.

Barchart already connects producers and grain buyers by linking producer-facing apps to cmdtyView - the addition of cmdtyView Hedge unlocks more efficiency by creating automated hedge orders for open offers and then pushing grain contracts and hedge executions directly into an agribusiness’s ERP system when an offer matches.

Barchart Launches Tickerized News Service Covering 100+ Global Sources

On our financial and media side, we announced the launch of our next-generation News APIs which provide global headline news from 100+ sources, 50+ countries, and in 47 different languages. This new service allows clients to easily add news from leading sources to websites, mobile apps, and brokerage platforms.

Built on the same infrastructure as our leading market data APIs and HTML5 charting, our News APIs offer advanced ticker normalization across publishers helping clients easily build products featuring market data, news, and charting. Money.net Chose Barchart to Power their Investor Products - Money.net, a provider of leading data and analytics platforms, selected Barchart to power their retail and professional products with streaming and historical market data. Barchart’s suite of connectivity options, including streaming data feeds, flexible APIs, and point-in-time historical data through its Market Replay service, allowed Money.net to consolidate and simplify the connectivity powering its investor products.

New Data and Integration Partnerships with EFC Systems and Greenstone Systems - Barchart aims to continuously grow and enhance our data offering and integrations through strategic partnerships, and this year was no exception!

We partnered with EFC Systems, a leading provider of ERP accounting and digital agronomy solutions for Ag Retailer / Service Providers. Under the first phase of this partnership, real-time grain accounting information from EFC Systems’ Merchant Ag platform will be available within Barchart’s Marketplace Apps. Data from Merchant Ag will flow between our producer-facing mobile apps built for agribusinesses and grain merchandising workflows built into cmdtyView; Barchart’s leading trading and analytics platform for commodities.

This powerful integration of EFC Systems’ Merchant Ag platform into Barchart’s digital tools, allows agribusiness to engage more effectively with their growers, streamlines grain trading workflows for agribusinesses, and provides them with increased operational efficiency.

We also partnered with Greenstone Systems, a leading provider of agribusiness management and accounting tools, to increase client choice and access to data in Greenstone’s producer engagement platform MyGrower.

MyGrower, which provides real-time account information from AGRIS, the most widely used ERP system in the U.S. grain industry - allows growers to operate their business on the go via mobile devices or computers. With this partnership, enterprise agribusiness clients of Barchart using MyGrower can now provide their growers with cash bids and futures pricing from Barchart into their MyGrower apps as part of their existing license with Barchart.

As an additional benefit from this integration, merchandisers and originators from joint clients will be able to update their bids in cmdtyView and see these published in real-time to their MyGrower users.
