Get the Latest South American Crop Production and Yield Estimates!

You heard it here first!  Barchart’s Crop Production Forecasts for South America indicate an increase in corn production and a decrease in soybean production for Brazil, while Argentina is expected to see a reduction in both corn and soybean production.

Barchart forecasts Brazil’s corn production at 129M kg with a yield of 5,683 compared to last month's 5,663.6 kg/Hectare. This is a .34% increase from the previous estimate.  Brazil's soybean production is forecast at 149.5 M kg with a yield of 3,483.4 kg/Hectare, compared to last month’s 3,505.1 kg/Hectare.  This is a -.61% decrease from the previous estimate.

One factor contributing to this decline is the excessive rainfall experienced in some parts of Brazil, which has slowed down the harvest and the second planting.  The window for planting will soon close, making it crucial for farmers to speed up the planting process.

Barchart's Crop Production Forecasts for South America forecast Argentina's corn production at 46.7 M kg with a yield of 6,783.4 kg/Hectare compared to last month's 6,925.3 kg/Hectare.  This is a -2.06% decrease from the previous estimate.  Argentina's soybean production is forecast at 42.4M kg with a yield of 2,485.4 kg/Hectare, compared to last month's estimate of 2,518.8 kg/Hectare.  This is a -1.33% decrease from the previous estimate.

A report from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange suggests that early frosts could affect the corn and soybean crops in southern areas of Argentina's main farming region.
