Company Info

Clean Tech Biofuels

Description:

CleanTech Biofuels, Inc. was incorporated in Delaware on December 20, 1996. The Company changed its name to CleanTech Biofuels, Inc. on August 2, 2007. The Company is a development stage company that has recently changed its focus from being a fully integrated cellulosic ethanol producer to being a provider of cellulosic biomass derived from municipal solid waste, also known as MSW, for any energy product. Based on its investigation and acquisition of new technologies and research and development of its existing technologies in 2008, the Company has re-focused its business on the commercialization of its technology for cleaning and separating MSW into its component parts through the acquisition of further technology to clean and separate MSW, which is known as the Biomass Recovery Process and is currently in use in a commercial setting in Australia. The Company is seeking to develop a plant in a major metropolitan area. It is currently working with an existing waste hauler to develop one or more waste transfer stations where waste collected would be processed using its technology and the biomass produced used to create heat and power. The Company is also seeking to implement its technology in Maryville, Missouri. The biomass it produces would be supplied to Northwest Missouri State University for research purposes in advanced biofuel technologies and to supply steam for the University. The University has used biomass to produce steam for more than twenty years and has significant experience in handling biomass feedstocks. There are two types of MSW Disposal: Municipal Solid Waste Landfills includes municipal solid waste, industrial waste, construction and demolition debris, and bioreactors; and Mass Burn/Incineration Plants. The emergence of technologies to convert MSW to energy or chemicals is opening new opportunities. The alternative energy industry in the United States is competitive. The Company would be subject to international, federal, state and local laws and regulations with regard to air and water quality, hazardous and solid waste disposal and other environmental matters upon commercial operations.
