Latest Brugler Live Cattle (P) Report

Cattle futures are 15 to 32 cents lower.  Wholesale beef prices were mixed on Tuesday.  Choice was 95 cents lower, while Select boxes were quoted 36 cents higher. Week to date slaughter is 248,000 head, lagging 249,000 last Tuesday and 254,000 a year ago for the first two days of the week. There has been little activity thus far on the cash cattle front for this week. No packer bids have been reported. Feeder cattle futures were lower yesterday due to higher corn prices and lower cattle prices, mitigated perhaps a little bit by improving pasture conditions.
