Corn futures are trading mostly a penny lower this morning. The USDA Grain Stocks report is scheduled for 11 am CDT this morning. We will hold our analysis webinar at noon. Historically, the corn stocks figure has been one of the most difficult to predict accurately. Traders expect ending stocks to come in between 1.020-1.294 billion bushels. Export inspections for this week reported by the USDA in the weekly report Monday morning were 601,825 MT. That is only about 57% of last week, but the market year to date total is about 181% of the same week a year ago. The weekly USDA Crop Progress report showed the overall condition of the national crop unchanged from last week. As of Sunday, 60% of the crop is considered mature vs. the 5yr avg of 70% for this date. USDA says 12% of the crop has been harvested compared to the 5yr avg of 23% for this date.
