
Friday hog futures are trading 17 to 97 cents higher through midday. Feb ’23 contracts are the exception with a 10 cent pullback so far. USDA’s National Average Base Hog price was $115.32 for Friday morning, down by $2.62. The CME Lean Hog Index was down by 32 cents on 6/7 to $107.48.
Pork cutout futures are up triple digits at midday with $0.70 to $1.32 gains. USDA’s National Pork Carcass Cutout for Friday AM was $2.50 higher on strength in the bellies to $111.59. USDA estimates the federally inspected hog slaughter was 1.907m head for the week through Thursday.
