
So far through Monday, the lean hog futures complex has the board $1.60 weaker in April and $2.40 to $4.10 weaker in the other nearbys. The National Average Morning Base Hog price for Monday was withheld for confidentiality, on Friday afternoon, it was $100.87. CME’s 3/31 Lean Hog Index was $102.63, down by 50 cents.
Front month pork cutout futures are down $0.65 to $3.80 at midday. USDA’s National Pork Carcass Cutout Value for Monday morning was $8.23 higher to $111.83. Bellies were $34.15 higher in the AM report to $207.33 cwt. USDA estimated FI hog slaughter as 2.442 million head for the week through Saturday.
