Dallas, Texas-based AT&T Inc. (T) provides telecommunications and technology services worldwide. The company has a market cap of $177.4 billion and operates through two segments, Communications and Latin America, and offers wireless voice and data communications services, as well as sales of handsets, wireless data cards, wireless computing devices, carrying cases/protective covers, and wireless chargers, and more.
Companies with a market cap of $10 billion or more are typically referred to as “large-cap stocks.” T fits squarely into that category, with its market cap exceeding this threshold and reflecting its substantial size and influence in the telecom services industry.
Despite that, the stock currently trades 13.1% below its 52-week high of $29.79, recorded on Sept. 15, 2025. T stock has grown 4.4% over the past three months, outperforming the State Street Communication Services Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLC) 3.7% decline during the same time frame.

In the longer term, T has delivered a different performance. The stock has declined 10.5% over the past 52 weeks, lagging behind the marginal fall of XLC over the same period. T has been trading above its 200-day moving average since August and also above its 50-day moving average since late July, showcasing bullish momentum.

On July 23, T stock declined marginally following the release of its mixed Q2 2026 earnings. The company’s revenue for the quarter amounted to $31.6 billion, which missed Wall Street’s forecasts. However, its adjusted EPS for the period came in at $0.65, surpassing the Street’s estimates. AT&T expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.25 to $2.35 per share.
When stacked against its rival, Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) has surged 13.9% over the past year, rallying T.
Wall Street has a moderately optimistic view of the stock currently. Among the 29 analysts tracking T, the overall consensus stands at a “Moderate Buy.” Its mean price target of $28.97 suggests 11.9% upside potential from current price levels.
