Dublin, Ireland-based Eaton Corporation plc (ETN) operates as a power management company in the United States and internationally. Valued at a market cap of $156.4 billion, the company operates through Electrical Americas, Electrical Global, Aerospace, Vehicle, and eMobility segments.
Companies with a market cap of $10 billion or more are typically referred to as “large-cap stocks.” ETN fits squarely into that category, with its market cap exceeding this threshold and reflecting its substantial size and influence in the specialized industrial machinery industry.
ETN stock reached its 52-week high of $478 on Aug. 12, and has slipped 15.9% from that peak. The stock has grown marginally over the past three months, outperforming the Nasdaq Composite ($NASX), which fell 2.2% over the same period.

Over the longer term, the scenario changes. ETN is up nearly 13.1% over the past 52 weeks, lagging behind NASX's 21.5% return over the same period.
ETN has been trading below its 200-day moving average since the end of August and above its 50-day moving average since July.

On July 31, ETN stock rose 7.3% following the release of its better-than-expected Q2 2026 earnings. The company’s revenue for the quarter amounted to $8.5 billion, surpassing the Street’s estimates. Moreover, its adjusted EPS came in at $3.15, also coming in on top of Wall Street’s forecasts. For the full year, ETN expects its organic growth to be in the range of 11% to 13% and its adjusted EPS to be in the range of $3.46 and $3.56. The company’s impressive growth was attributed to its growing Electrical Global segment and a massive backlog of orders, as a result of the massive energy demand of the booming data center market.
When stacked against its peer in the specialized industrial machinery industry, GE Vernova Inc. (GEV) shares have grown 41.8% over the past 52 weeks, outpacing ETN stock.
Wall Street’s view of ETN stock is highly optimistic. Among the 24 analysts covering the stock, the overall consensus rating is “Strong Buy.” Its mean price target of $482.48 offers a 20.1% upside potential.
