Nvidia’s (NVDA) earnings have continued to surprise as the company benefits from a massive AI infrastructure buildout. In Q2 FY27, the company’s earnings and guidance exceeded estimates, and NVDA stock surged 8.74% after results last week.
As investors look for the possible stock trend in the coming quarters, it’s important to note that NVDA stock still trades at a forward price-earnings-ratio of 25.55 times. Further, the price-earnings-to-growth-ratio at 0.44 suggests attractive valuations. The market valuation should therefore not be a deterrent for considering exposure to the innovation driven company.
Coming back to the results, Nvidia reported Q2 revenue of $96.2 billion, which was higher by 106% year-over-year (YOY). For the same period, gross margin expanded by 260 basis points to 75%. Further, operating cash flow for the first half of FY27 swelled to $74.4 billion, which implies an annualized OCF potential in excess of $150 billion.
Clearly, the numbers are impressive, and the company’s Q3 guidance has also exceeded consensus estimates. Nvidia also commenced the shipment of Vera Rubin in early August, a move likely to drive stellar growth beyond Q3. Considering the bullish outlook, it’s likely that the stock price-action will remain positive.
About Nvidia Stock
Headquartered in Santa Clara, Nvidia became the first company in history to reach $5 trillion in market valuation in October 2025. With Nvidia building the computing infrastructure of the AI era, rapid growth and cash flow upside has driven value creation.
Nvidia has two reportable business segments: Compute & Networking and Graphics. The first segment is the key growth driver and includes data center accelerated computing, networking platforms, AI solutions, and software. The graphics segment includes GeForce GPUs for gaming and PCs.
For FY26, Nvidia reported $215.9 billion in revenue and the data center business contributed to 89.7% of total revenue. Nvidia believes that AI is driving the largest infrastructure buildout in “human history.” This factor is likely to ensure sustained growth for the core business that’s driven by the innovation edge.
As robust growth sustains, Nvidia reported revenue of $177.8 billion for the first half of FY27, which was higher by 95.8% YOY. With sustained industry tailwinds, strong moat, and swelling cash flows, NVDA stock has trended higher by 23.5% in the last six months.
Nvidia's Unique Advantage
Besides structural industry tailwinds, Nvidia has advantages that positions the company to remain an industry leader. As an example, the company’s architecture runs every model. This includes closed models such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Grok, Meta, and Gemini. Further, it also includes open models such as TML, Mistral, Qwen, Kimi, GLM, and DeepSeek.
Further, Nvidia has a full-stack AI factory platform that’s supporting the company’s increased share in data center TAM. With the rising adoption of agentic AI, the demand for data center CPUs is expected to swell. Nvidia Vera, the first CPU built for AI agents, is well positioned to support revenue growth.
Nvidia’s financial flexibility also offers a key advantage. It was recently reported that the company has agreed to buy Hugging Face for $12.9 billion. The potential acquisition is likely to broaden Nvidia’s “position in open-source AI and further across the AI technology stack.” Besides acquisitions that support widening of the addressable market and technologies, Nvidia is also positioned to invest aggressively in R&D.
