At IDS Vancouver, Station Grill will bring this approach to life through an outdoor kitchen developed in collaboration with Concord Distributing, demonstrating how cooking, entertaining and architectural expression can come together in a single outdoor environment.

A New Role for Designers

Creating a successful outdoor living environment requires many of the same considerations as an interior kitchen: circulation, storage, work surfaces, appliance selection and placement, proportions, materials, colour and sightlines.

Outdoor environments also introduce requirements that interior kitchens do not, from exposure to weather and seasonal temperature changes to the selection of materials and equipment. This makes collaboration between designers and outdoor-kitchen specialists an important part of the design process.

Station Grill's modular outdoor-kitchen system is designed around this idea of integration. Multiple finishes and cabinet configurations give designers the flexibility to coordinate cooking equipment, refrigeration, sinks, storage and work surfaces within a broader architectural vision.

A Kitchen Designed Around How We Live Outdoors

The collaboration with Concord Distributing brings this philosophy to life through a dedicated outdoor kitchen installation, combining Station Grill cabinetry with grills and outdoor cooking equipment.

The IDS Vancouver installation features a generous galley-style outdoor kitchen organized around two distinct but complementary zones.

On one side, a dedicated cooking station brings together the grills and specialized cooking equipment that form the culinary heart of the space. Opposite it, a large entertainment island incorporates a sink, refrigerator, extensive work surface and counter seating, creating a natural place for guests to gather without interfering with the cooking zone.

It is an arrangement that reflects how outdoor kitchens are evolving. The grill remains important, but it is no longer the entire story.

EVO in Boreal: Bringing Colour Into the Landscape

The kitchen features Station Grill's EVO Collection in Boreal, a sophisticated green finish paired with porcelain countertops.

The choice of Boreal reflects a broader shift in outdoor design. Cabinetry no longer needs to default to black, grey or stainless steel. Colour can become an architectural material in its own right, creating a visual relationship between the kitchen, landscape, furniture and surrounding architecture.
