ResMed shares tumbled 5.1% following its Q4 2026 results on Aug. 6 as its fiscal 2027 revenue guidance of $5.75 billion - $5.85 billion was below the analyst expectation, with the outlook assuming no Astral ventilator sales and a $75 million revenue impact from the suspension. The Astral suspension followed a device correction and FDA recall linked to five serious injuries, while ResMed has not decided whether sales will resume in fiscal 2028 and is redirecting scarce electronic components to repairs and servicing, adding to investor concerns over growth and supply constraints.
Despite Q4 adjusted EPS of $2.95 beating the estimate and revenue rising 9% to $1.46 billion, rising electronic-component and freight costs, planned price increases, and competition further pressured the fiscal 2027 growth outlook.
For the fiscal year ending in June 2027, analysts expect ResMed’s adjusted EPS to grow 7.7% year-over-year to $12.03. The company's earnings surprise history is promising. It topped the consensus estimates in each of the last four quarters.
Among the 21 analysts covering the stock, the consensus rating is a “Moderate Buy.” That’s based on eight “Strong Buy” ratings, 12 “Holds,” and one “Strong Sell.”
This configuration is slightly less bullish than three months ago, with nine “Strong Buy” ratings on the stock.
On Aug. 7, Wells Fargo analyst Nathan Treybeck cut ResMed’s price target to $215 while maintaining an “Equal Weight" rating.
The mean price target of $238.27 represents a 1.4% premium to RMD’s current price levels. The Street-high price target of $320 suggests a 36.3% potential upside.
