Archer Aviation (ACHR) has announced another major step in its plans to build an air-taxi network across Los Angeles ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
ACHR signed a multi-year agreement with AEG this morning that will enable the company to develop a vertiport at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles, making Archer the district’s exclusive air-taxi provider.
At the time of writing, Archer Aviation stock is down about 25% versus the start of this year.

Significance of AEG Deal for Archer Aviation Stock
The L.A. LIVE agreement equips the company with something increasingly important as it moves toward commercialization: visible infrastructure tied directly to a potential passenger market.
The proposed vertiport will connect L.A. LIVE with other locations across the region, while Archer has also identified SoFi Stadium, USC, and Hollywood Burbank Airport as potential network locations and Hawthorne Airport as its central operating hub.
The timing is particularly important because the downtown Los Angeles zone will host 18 Olympic and Paralympic sports.
That gives Archer Aviation a high-profile opportunity to demonstrate its four-seat Midnight aircraft during the Games, potentially strengthening the company's commercial credibility and long-term revenue opportunity.
What Else Makes ACHR Shares Attractive?
Archer Aviation shares’ investment case extends beyond the LA28 opportunity.
The company is progressing toward commercial operations, with Midnight completing a piloted city-to-city round trip between Salinas and Monterey in July. ACHR has also closed Phase 3 of the FAA's four-phase Type Certification process, putting it further along the regulatory path.
Meanwhile, the San Jose-headquartered firm’s planned acquisition of Boeing’s (BA) Wisk Aero, Insitu, and SkyGrid businesses could broaden its aerospace and defense exposure and add more than $200 million in annual revenue.
Note that Barchart also currently holds an “8% BUY” opinion on ACHR stock based on 13 different technical indicators.
