Swords, Ireland-based Trane Technologies plc (TT) designs, manufactures, sells, and services solutions for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and custom and transport refrigeration. The company has a market cap of $100.2 billion and offers air conditioners, exchangers, and handlers; airside and terminal devices; air-sourced heat pumps; chillers; coils and condensers; auxiliary power, cold storage, and condensing units, and more.
TT stock has lagged behind the broader market over the past year, growing 6.2% compared to the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 20.6% surge. However, in 2026, the stock has risen by nearly 17%, outperforming the SPX’s 12.6% rise.
Focusing on its industry benchmark, the State Street Industrials Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLI) has risen 20.2% over the past year, outperforming the stock. In 2026, XLI has grown 17.3% and has also outpaced the stock.
The company’s short-term outperformance can be traced back to its impressive Q2 2026 earnings. TT’s revenue grew 10.6% from the prior year’s quarter to $6.4 billion and surpassed the Street’s estimates, along with its adjusted EPS coming in at $4.31 and also topping Wall Street’s forecasts. On a more impressive note, the company raised its full-year adjusted EPS guidance to $15.25 at the midpoint, a 2.7% increase. The stock grew 3.3% on July 31 as a result of its better-than-expected earnings.
For the current year, which ends in December, analysts expect TT’s EPS to increase 17.2% to $15.31 on a diluted basis. The company surpassed the consensus estimate in each of the last four quarters.
Among the 23 analysts covering TT stock, the consensus is a “Moderate Buy.” That’s based on 13 “Strong Buy” ratings and 10 “Holds.”
The configuration has grown slightly more bullish, with the stock now having 13 “Strong Buy” ratings, as compared to 12 three months ago.
On Aug. 14, Bernstein analyst Varun Govindaraj maintained a “Buy” rating for TT stock and raised its price target from $555 to $575.
TT’s mean price target of $533 offers a 17% upside compared to the current market price. Its Street-high target of $585 implies a 28.4% upside from current levels.
