Cotton futures posted modest losses of 41 to 90 points across most contracts on Thursday. Crude oil was down $2.06 per barrel, with the US dollar index $0.054 lower.
Export Sales showed a total of 778,939 RB carried over from the 2025/26 marketing year in the week of 8/6, with 126,050 RB in new sales. Shipments totaled 208,374 RB in the week of August 6. Vietnam was the destination for 60,800 RB, with 13,900 RB sold to Pakistan.
The Cotlook A Index was back up 50 points on Wednesday at 94.95 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks were down 2,977 bales on August 12, with the certified stocks level at 77,764 bales. The Adjusted World Price was raised by 190 points on Thursday to 68.19 cents/lb.
