Soybeans posted mixed trade on Thursday, with contracts closing anywhere from 3 ½ cents higher to 2 3/4 ents lower across the board. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price is up 4 1/2 cents at $11.45 1/4. Soymeal futures were down 90 cents to $2.40 on the day, with Soy Oil down 4 to 37 points.
USDA reported a private export sale of 125,000 MT of soybeans to China this morning for 2026/27 shipment.
Weekly Export Sales data was out this morning, with a total of just 75,119 MT in old crop sales, during the week of August 6. New crop sales were tallied at 1.76 MMT, which was the second largest for the marketing year and more than triple the same week last year. China was the top buyer of 1.446 MMT, with 272,000 MT sold to unknown destinations.
Soybean meal sales were pegged at 218,377 MT, in the middle of the 100,000 to 400,000 MT estimates, with 69,421 MT for 2025/26 and 148,956 MT for 2026/27. Bean oil bookings totaled net cancellations of 6,005 MT for 2025/26 and sales of 4,354 MT for 2026/27.
CONAB trimmed the Brazilian soybean production number by 0.11 MMT on Thursday to 180.46 MMT.
