Portsmouth-based Iron Mountain Incorporated (IRM) is a global leader in information management services, trusted by more than 240,000 customers in 61 countries. The company has a market cap of $36.4 billion and offers solutions for information management, digital transformation, information security, data centers, and asset lifecycle management (ALM).
IRM stock has rallied the broader market over the past year, surging 35% compared to the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 20.2% surge. Moreover, in 2026, the stock has risen nearly 49.9%, outperforming the SPX’s 13.2% rise as well.
Focusing on its industry benchmark, the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLRE) has grown 8.3% over the past year, underperforming the stock. In 2026, XLRE has grown 10.3% and has also lagged behind the stock.
On Aug.5, IRM stock rose 1.3% following the release of its Q2 2026 earnings. The company’s revenue for the quarter rose 18.5% from the previous year’s quarter to $2 billion and surpassed the Street’s estimates. Moreover, its AFFO per share came in at $1.44, also topping Wall Street’s forecasts. Iron Mountain expects full-year earnings in the range of $5.87 to $5.93 per share, with revenue in the range of $7.94 billion to $8.01 billion.
For the current year, which ends in December, analysts expect IRM’s FFO to rise 154.7%year-over-year to $5.40 on a diluted basis. The company has surpassed the consensus estimate in each of the last four quarters.
Among the 12 analysts covering IRM stock, the consensus is a “Strong Buy.” That’s based on nine “Strong Buy” ratings, one “Moderate Buy,” one “Hold,” and one “Strong Sell.”
The configuration has remained more or less unchanged over the past few months.
On Aug. 11, RBC Capital analyst Jonathan Atkin maintained a “Buy” rating on Iron Mountain and set a price target of $147.
IRM’s mean price target of $134 offers an upside of 7.8% compared to the current market price. Its Street-high target of $153 implies a robust 23% upside from current levels.
