On July 30, The Cigna Group reported its Q2 FY2026 earnings, with shares falling 3% despite results topping expectations. Adjusted revenues grew 6.6% to $71.7 billion, driven by growth in both Evernorth Health Services and Cigna Healthcare. Adjusted income from operations rose 8.1% to $7.78 per share. Cigna raised its full-year 2026 outlook for adjusted income from operations to at least $30.45 per share, up $0.10 from its prior projection. The company also raised its outlook for Cigna Healthcare’s adjusted income from operations, pre-tax, to at least $4.55 billion, up $25 million, while maintaining Evernorth’s outlook of at least $6.9 billion.
Analysts expect CI’s diluted EPS to rise 2.3% year over year to $30.51 for the fiscal year ending in December 2026. CI has surpassed consensus EPS estimates in each of the past four quarters, reflecting consistent earnings performance.
Based on the 23 analysts covering CI stock, the consensus rating is a “Moderate Buy.” The rating is based on 14 “Strong Buy” ratings, three “Moderate Sell” ratings, and six “Hold” ratings.
This configuration is more bearish than it was a month ago, when the stock had 16 “Strong Buy” ratings.
On August 3, Goldman Sachs raised its price target for Cigna Group to $352 from $340 while maintaining a “Buy” rating.
Based on analysts’ estimates, the mean price target of $341.61 implies a 22.7% premium to CI’s current share price, while the Street-high price target of $400 suggests a 43.7% upside.
