Lean hog futures are up 25 cent to $1.80 so far on Monday. USDA’s national base hog price was not reported on Monday morning due to thin trade. The CME Lean Hog Index was down 36 cents on August 6 at $96.30.
USDA’s pork carcass cutout value was back up $1.15 in the Monday AM report, at $102.65. The butt, rib, and belly primals were reported lower. USDA estimated federally inspected hog slaughter for last week 2.281 at million head. That is 17,000 head above the previous week but 49,977 head above the same week last year.
Aug 26 Hogs are at $95.750, up $0.250,
Oct 26 Hogs are at $83.975, up $1.750
Dec 26 Hogs are at $75.375, up $1.800,
