Corn prices are trading with 2 to 3 cent gains early on Monday morning. Futures settled with contracts steady to fractionally higher at the Friday close. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price was unchanged at $4.09 1/2.
USDA reported a private export sale of 286,097 MT of corn to Mexico on Friday, with 29,808 MT for 2026/27 and 256,289 for 2027/28.
Ahead of the August Crop Production report from NASS next Wednesday, a Reuters survey of analysts shows expected yield at 182.4 bushels per acre, with a range of 180.5 to 184.8 bpa. Production is estimated at 15.934 bbu, as harvested acres are expected to be trimmed by 76,000 acres.
CFTC data released on Friday afternoon showed managed money adding just 13,547 contracts to their net long in corn futures and options in the week of 8/4. The net long was at 181,946 contracts as of Tuesday.
Brazil’s second crop was tallied at 79% harvested in the center south region according to AgRural. That lags the 88% pace from the same time last year.
