Lean hog futures are posting Friday mixed trade, with contracts down a nickel to 40 cents higher so far at midday. USDA’s national base hog price was reported at $975.75.30 on Friday morning The CME Lean Hog Index was down 29 cents on August 4 at $96.66.
USDA’s pork carcass cutout value was back up $2.19 in the Friday A report, at $101.45. All primals were reported higher. USDA estimated federally inspected hog slaughter for Thursday at 482,000 head, taking the weekly total to 1.862 million head. That is 54,000 head above the previous week and 25,831 head above the same week last year.
Aug 26 Hogs are at $95.450, down $0.050,
Oct 26 Hogs are at $82.100, up $0.375
Dec 26 Hogs are at $73.450, up $0.225,
