Lean hog futures are posting $1.25 to $1.85 gains across the front months at midday. USDA’s national base hog prices from the Tuesday AM report was at $106.10, up $1.58 from the day prior. The CME Lean Hog Index was down another 36 cents on September 19 at $104.98.
USDA’s FOB plant pork cutout report from Tuesday morning was up 75 cents at $114.05 per cwt. The loin, butt, and picnic primals were reported lower. USDA estimated federally inspected hog slaughter on Monday at 490,000 head. That was steady with last Monday and 8,401 head above the same Monday last year.

Feb 26 Hogs is at $91.950, up $1.250,
