Corn futures closed the prelude to Christmas with contracts steady to 1 ½ cents higher across the board. Volume was limited at just 191,901 contracts. The national average Cash Corn price from cmdtyView was up 3/4 cent at $4.19 ¼.
The markets will resume trading at 8:30 am CST this morning. Weekly EIA data is pushed back to a Thursday morning release, with most expecting to see ethanol production hold steady after creeping back above 1.1 million bpd last week. Export Sales data will be out on Friday morning.
Brazilian corn exports are expected to total 4.1 MMT for December, according to ANEC, which is unchanged from their precious estimate.
