Lean hogs are a nickel lower in both the July and October contracts, but 25 to 45 cents higher in the other nearby futures. USDA’s National Average Base Hog price was $1.77 stronger to $96.03. The CME Lean Hog Index was 54 cents higher to $88.75 for 6/19.
Pork cutout futures are trading higher with gains of as much as 1.5% so far. USDA’s National Pork Carcass Cutout Value was reported $4.04 higher to $98.66. USDA estimated Tuesday’s FI hog slaughter at 469k head setting the week’s pace at 928k.
