Following the Friday dynamic, nearby lean hogs closed another 20 to 72 cents lower while the deferred months were up another 30 to 85 cents. The National Average Base Hog price was 76 cents stronger in the PM update to $72.66. The 3/30 CME Lean Hog Index was 31 cents weaker to $75.46. Â
Pork cutout futures ended the day with front month losses of as much as 87 cents. USDA’s Pork Carcass Cutout value was $1.04 higher in the Monday PM report at $78.32. the CME Fresh Bacon Inex was $4.75 lower to $112.31. USDA estimated FI hog slaughter for Monday at 485,000 head. That was 1k below last week and is 7k above the same week last year.Â
