The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 61 cents per share.
The processed food company with dual headquarters in Pittsburgh and Chicago posted revenue of $6.35 billion in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $6.42 billion.
Kraft Heinz expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.98 to $2.10 per share.
