Pasadena, California-based Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. (ARE) is a real estate investment trust that pioneered the life science real estate niche, focusing on the ownership, operation, and development of collaborative "Megacampus" ecosystems. Valued at a market cap of $7.5 billion, the company is scheduled to announce its fiscal Q1 earnings for 2026 after the market closes on Monday, Apr. 27.
Ahead of this event, analysts expect this life science REIT to report a profit of $1.74 per share, down 24.4% from $2.30 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company has topped Wall Street’s earnings estimates in three of the last four quarters, while missing on another occasion. In Q4 2025, ARE’s EPS of $2.16 outpaced the consensus estimates by a penny.
For the current fiscal year, ending in December, analysts expect ARE to report a profit of $6.41 per share, representing a 28.9% decrease from $9.01 per share in fiscal 2025. Its EPS is expected to further decline 5.9% year-over-year to $6.03 in fiscal 2027.

ARE has declined 55% over the past 52 weeks, significantly trailing both the S&P 500 Index's ($SPX) 16.7% return and the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLRE) 3% drop over the same time period.

On Feb. 10, ARE shares climbed 1.2% after the company priced a $750 million public offering of 5.25% senior notes due 2036. The notes were issued at a modest discount, implying a yield of 5.291%, and are unsecured, with support from its subsidiary. The company intends to use the proceeds largely to refinance existing debt linked to a prior tender offer, with any interim funds directed toward short-term investments or general corporate needs.
Wall Street analysts are cautious about ARE’s stock, with a "Hold" rating overall. Among 17 analysts covering the stock, three recommend "Strong Buy," 13 advise "Hold,” and one suggests a "Strong Sell" rating.
