This Crop is in Trouble!

December corn dipped a penny or two on the open and it looked like prices were looking to close the gap on the chart from Sunday night’s strong opening that needs a move to $4.68 ¼ to be filled. Prices stalled just shy of that mark and rose steadily throughout the day to notch a fresh high at $4.76 ½ on gains of 2 to 3 cents. Temperatures cool off for the central and eastern Midwest while the west is stuck with ongoing high heat. Extended forecasts keep rain chances limited and show heat returning for most areas for late July and into early August. Production uncertainty and ongoing war premium can keep upside potential open.
