Ian Cooper
For more than 26 years, Ian Cooper has been an experienced financial writer and editor who helps investors make sense of what’s happening on Wall Street. That includes explaining what’s happening fundamentally and technically, as well as how news flow impacts individual stocks, exchange-traded funds, and markets. He is particularly interested in market themes, such as biotech, artificial intelligence, new technical innovation, defense, and geopolitical issues.
He was previously a writer at InvestorPlace.com, and has been featured on Yahoo Finance, the Washington Examiner, The Charlotte Observer, MSN, 247WallSt.com, and more. He was also featured in J. Christoph Amberger’s Hot Trading Secrets: How to Get in and Out of the Market with Huge Gains in Any Climate.
Cooper was among the few analysts to spot the financial crisis of 2008, the top of subprime and Alt-A, the death of Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns, and New Century Financial, and even the Dow’s collapse to 6,500, as well as its recovery. He even called for gold to rally well above $2,500 when it traded for less than $600.
Ian earned a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication (including Journalism, Marketing, and Public Relations) from Towson University.
