Jim Prince

Jim Prince

Jim Prince is a commodity trader and educator with more than 35 years of hands-on experience in the futures and options markets. He is the head trader and educator at CommodityTrends.com, where he leads the firm’s trading programs, develops its courses, writes its weekly newsletters, issues real-time trade alerts, hosts webinars, and prepares the daily market-analysis videos that let members watch his decision-making process unfold in real time.

Jim specializes in commodity futures and options, with a particular emphasis on trend-following, disciplined risk management, and the trading psychology that separates consistent traders from everyone else. He is known for an unemotional, plan-driven approach and for his ability to translate complex market concepts into plain English that everyday investors can actually put to work. Over the past three-plus decades he has guided traders at every level — from complete beginners to active market participants — toward becoming more confident and more consistent.

Rather than relying on formal academic credentials, Jim’s qualifications come straight from the markets: decades of trading his own and the company’s accounts, building a complete commodity-trading curriculum from the ground up, and teaching thousands of students through the CommodityTrends program. He is the author of The Complete Greatest Business on Earth Training Manual, a step-by-step guide that takes readers from the basics of commodity trading through advanced strategies, and of Zeroing In On Opportunity, a book exploring how the markets — and many aspects of life — tend to gravitate toward the number zero.

Jim is based in Grants Pass, Oregon.
