Robusta Coffee 10-T Futures Market News and Commentary

Coffee Prices Plunge on Prospects of Lower US Tariffs

December arabica coffee (KCZ25) on Wednesday closed down -19.05 (-4.51%), and January ICE robusta coffee (RMF26) closed down -252 (-5.46%).

Coffee prices sold off sharply on Wednesday, with robusta falling to a 2-week low.  Comments from President Trump late Tuesday hammered coffee prices today when he said, "We're going to lower some tariffs on coffee."   Losses in coffee prices accelerated on Wednesday when Treasury Secretary Bessent said that there would be "substantial announcements over the next couple of days" on crops not grown in the US, including coffee.  

Coffee prices were also pressured on Wednesday after StoneX, in its first forecast for the 2026/27 season, projected that Brazil will produce 70.7 million bags of coffee, including 47.2 million bags of arabica, a +29% y/y increase.
