Price updates
All IntraDay information is exchange specified delayed. The New York exchanges, NYMEX, COMEX,
NYCE and CSCE have a 30 minute IntraDay delay, the midwest exchanges CBOT, CME, MidAm, KCBT, WPG and MGEX
have a 10 minute IntraDay delay on the prices. Anything closer than this is considered real-time.
IntraDay information is quoted in Central Standard Time. The IntraDay information
displayed on the site should be no more than 10 minutes older than the exchange delay. We take a snapshot
of the prices every 10 minutes and update the IntraDay information with these latest prices.
On the IntraDay price pages you will see "Latest prices: as of..."; this relates to
the last time our program updated the page. On the far right of the pages you will see a column
entitled Time. This contains the actual time of the last quote of this future or option.
10 and 30 Minute Chart Updates
Many people have emailed regarding the differences between the 10 and 30 minute charts. Each
bar in the IntraDay chart corresponds to the prices for that time period. Therefore,
the low in the 10 minute section is the low for that 10 minute period. Whereas, the 30
minute will be the low for that 30 minute period. The change is the change for that time period.
If problems occur:
If you think the prices you are seeing are not current we first suggest clearing out your disk and
memory cache to ensure the problem is not on your end. We have instruction on how to do this within
the Cached Page help page.
If after clearing out your disk and memory the pages have still not updated then this could be
a problem with our IntraDay system. You can Email Barchart with a description
of the problem (including pages and/or contracts you are looking at) and the steps you have already taken.
