The left side frame does not display on the Java site

Because our site uses frames to display the left side tanned pages, launched using JavaScript, some programs such as AdSubtract PRO treats these pages as pop-up advertisments and hence prevent you from displaying the content.

  • DoubleClick on AdSubtract PRO
  • Select Filters from the Top menu
  • Click on the button for "Add"
  • Add the domain barchart.com
  • Un-select Pop-Up Windows from the Annoyances Menu
  • Click OK to save and apply your settings If this does not work, or you have any questions please contact techsup@barchart.com

    Why I am required to log in twice?

    It has come to our attention that some users have to log into our system twice. We have discovered that this can be caused by programs such as Sun Java on your system. The solution to this problem is to "disable" Sun Java, or the offending program.

    The Pages are Outdated

    All Intra-Day information is updated every 10 minutes of every trading day.
    All End of Day information is updated each night at 5:30pm C.S.T.
    All Weekly information is updated the last trading day of the week.
    All Monthly information is updated the last trading day of the month.

    If you are viewing a page and the information is out of date, the most likely problem is the disk cache within your Internet Browser. Your disk cache is designed to save you time on the Internet; the default setting is once per session. This means that each time you log on to the Internet your browser will load the current page, but if you ever go back to this page in the same Internet session, your browser will load the original page regardless if this page is the most recent or not. Your disk cache can also fill up, this means that you will never load the most recent page and you will only load the latest version of the page you have in your disk cache.

    The solution is to empty or clear out your disk and memory cache so you can view the most recent version of the pages. We have instructions on how to do this in the Cached Pages help page.

    If after clearing out your disk and memory cache you find the pages are still not up to date, please Contact Barchart with the URL (http://...etc...) of the page which you believe is out of date.

    Contract Specifications

    All of the relevant contract information for a particular commodity is located in that commodity's Contract Specifications page. This information is available in the commodities own page. For a list of the commodities we cover and our symbols please refer to the Commodities List.

    Margin Requirements

    We have been receiving a lot of request for margin requirement information. We do not have this information, we could get it, but it would be impossible for us to keep this information up to date.

    Cash Prices

    Cash prices are available for all major commodities for which we feature on our site. Some cash prices such as Currencies and Indices are available during the day as passed down through our feeds. Others such as Grains, Energies, Meats, Metals, Financials and Softs are updated at around 7pm C.T. each night. Cash information is retrieved from various sources, including the USDA and WSJ.

    Custom Charts Settings

    Why won't the new Custom Charts keep my old settings when I hit the back button on my browser? You need to set the disk cache on your browser from "every time" to "once per session" (or a similar setting, depending on the browser type you are using). We have instructions on how to do this in the Cached Pages help page. Barchart.com does not give market advice, it is illegal for us to advice you on what to buy and sell, as we are not registered CTA's. We just provide the information in the form of prices, analysis and charts to better help you make the necessary decisions yourself.

    Canceling Your Account

    If you decide to cancel your account, you can call Barchart at 312-554-8122, or email cancellations to subscribe@barchart.com You will receive a confirmation email regarding the cancellation. If you do not receive this email, then your email did not go through and your account is still open. We cannot give refunds if we cannot determine when you cancelled. This is why it is important that you make sure your email went through.
