Precious metals prices this morning are weaker: GCZ4 -10.5 (-0.86%), SIZ4 -0.297 (-1.69%), HGZ4 -0.021 (-0.67%). Metals prices on Monday closed higher as Dec copper rebounded from a 3-1/2 month low. Bullish factors included (1) a weaker dollar, and (2) the slide in global stocks, which boosted demand for precious metals as an alternative investment. Dec copper had posted a 3-1/2 month low on demand concerns after U.S. Aug pending home sales fell more than expected and after Eurozone Sep economic confidence fell to a 10-month low.
