Precious metals prices this morning are stronger: GCZ4 +6.4 (+0.50%), SIU4 +0.095 (+0.49%), HGU4 +0.024 (+0.76%). Metals prices on Thursday closed lower with Dec gold at a 2-month low. The main bearish factor for gold was negative carry-over from Wednesday’s Jul 29-30 FOMC meeting minutes that raised the possibility the Fed may raise interest rates sooner than anticipated. Sep copper fell back from a 1-week high and closed lower on Chinese demand concerns after the China Aug HSBC flash manufacturing PMI fell more than expected. Closes: GCZ4 -19.8 (-1.53%), SIU4 -0.082 (-0.42%), HGU4 -0.0110 (-0.03%).
