Precious metals prices this morning are trading lower on reduced safe-haven demand but copper is higher on the positive Chinese and Eurozone PMI reports: Aug gold -4.9 (-0.38%), Sep silver -0.080 (-0.38%), and Sep copper +0.040 (+1.25%). Metals prices on Wednesday closed narrowly mixed: GCQ4 -0.5 (-0.04), SIU4 -0.028 (-0.13%), HGU4 +0.0005 (+0.02%). Precious metals prices continue to see underlying support from the geopolitical hot spots of Ukraine/Russia and Israel/Gaza, while copper has seen some strength this week from strong global stocks and favorable U.S. new home sales data.
