Cotton futures fought to a mixed close. Some light shower activity is expected in Texas that may allow some cotton planting. The NWS 6-10 day forecast, however, calls for below normal precip and above normal temps for most of the Belt. The Cert Stocks report showed 509,848 bales available for delivery. There were 376 new bales certified and 0 decertified. There are 1700 bales awaiting review. The Cotlook A Index is at 90.10, down another 140 points from the previous day. The CFTC Commitment of Traders report showed the large specs reducing their net long position by 3,936 contracts to now be net long 58,450 contracts.

Jul 13 Cotton closed at 81.49, down 29 points,

Oct 13 Cotton closed at 83.3, up 9 points

Mar 14 Cotton closed at 83.58, up 23 points
