Rob Castaneda, CEO and founder of Palo Alto's ServiceRocket, has been named one of Silicon Valley's youngest, best and brightest for 2014 - a '40-Under-40' chosen by the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Castaneda founded the company that would become ServiceRocket in 2001, and today employs more than 170 people worldwide, with offices in Palo Alto, CA; Sydney, Australia; Santiago, Chile; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Rob built and grew the successful and profitable Silicon Valley-based company that strongly reflects the values and beliefs that he holds as an individual, without venture funding. Over the past 13 years, Rob has fostered a unique team environment that people want to be a part of, and that customers enjoy doing business with. In addition to building ServiceRocket, he has donated countless hours as an ambassador for other entrepreneurs around the globe, contributing to the Global Student Entrepreneur awards program and as a mentor for Endeavor. Rob also served as President for the Entrepreneurs' Organization in San Francisco. His efforts to introduce entrepreneurs from Islamic countries to some of the hottest Silicon Valley startups earned him a letter of appreciation from President Barack Obama.
In addition to this most recent accolade, Rob has previously been listed three times as one of Australia's top '30-Under-30' entrepreneurs, received the Ernst & Young 'Entrepreneur of the Year' award, represented Australia at the G20 Summit for Youth Entrepreneurship, and guest lectured at his alma mater, the University of Technology in Sydney. He is also very active in youth sports, coaching in the local community and fundraising for underprivileged young athletes.
