Signals Pages: Support and DocumentationFind help and documentation on each page within the Signals section using the index below. This documentation explains how each page is set up, with tips on how to best use the information.
Unique to Barchart.com, Signals are derived from the results and technical analysis of our proprietary program, called Technical Opinions.
Opinions analyze a stock or commodity using thirteen popular analytics in short-, medium- and long-term periods. Results are interpreted as Buy, Sell or Hold Signals, each with numeric ratings and summarized with a rating by percentages to buy or sell. The time frames for the short-, medium- and long-term Opinions are the arguments used within each study in the opinion. The short-term studies are based on 20 days' worth of data; medium-term studies are based on 50 days' worth; and long-term studies are based on 100 days'. Opinions are also available for individual symbols including stocks, funds, ETFs, Forex, and Commodities. To learn more about Opinions, see the topic "Opinion Calculations". The Signals pages consider all stocks that traded that day on the NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ exchanges, with a daily closing price between $2 and $900 and a daily volume of at least 10,000 shares. To be included within the Signals pages, the underlying stock must have at least six months' worth of trading history.
The Trading Signals is a complete guide of today's Barchart Opinions. The Summary Page links to a detailed page for each Indicator's Buy/Sell/Hold rating.
