By the end of the day, traders had added a nickel to the soybean price after the USDA report pegged acreage up less than one million from last year. The USDA survey found 84.635 million intended against a trade average guess of 85.934. Beans’ advantage over corn in terms of projected profit has been shrinking. The average soybean stocks estimate was near 1.35 billion bushels and it, too, was lighter than the trade expected, coming in at 1.334 billion. That was a bit of a jump from the 994 million bushels in inventory one year ago.
