Latest Brugler Soybeans Report

Soybean prices were modestly higher today, with the exception of the July futures and their 1 ¾ cent lower close. The USDA announced this morning that private exporters reported 240,000 MT of soybeans were sold to China for delivery in the 2013/14 marketing year.  That provided a modicum of support to the November and later futures.  The slow planting pace is also supportive, if well known. Iowa had more than 2 million acres of the intended soybean acres left to plant as of last Sunday.  With Prevent Plant dates now past, the question becomes whether producers will claim the insurance or grow the crop like they did in the old days without crop insurance.

Jul 13 Soybeans closed at $15.10 3/4, down 1 3/4 cents,

Aug 13 Soybeans closed at $14.35 1/2, up 1/4 cent,

Sep 13 Soybeans closed at $13.37 1/4, up 3 1/2 cents,

Nov 13 Soybeans closed at $12.89 3/4, up 4 1/4 cents,

Jul 13 Soybean Meal closed at $451.80, up $2.70,

Jul 13 Soybean Oil closed at $48.81, down $0.03
